The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to provide emergency care to the residents of Evans and surrounding counties.  The Emergency Department is staffed with qualified registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and ward clerks.  The nurses are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Care and Neonatal Resuscitation.  Evans Memorial contracts with The Schumacher Group to provide ED physician coverage.  The ED Schumacher Director is Dr. Marshall Hinds.

All patients that present to the Emergency Department are triaged and treated based on their level of acuity.  If patients are determined to be non-emergent after a medical screening exam, the patient will be required to pay their co-pay to continue treatment.  All patients deemed emergent will be treated regardless of their pay source.
