Evans Memorial Hospital Ambulatory Surgery and Endoscopy Center is proud to serve the citizens of Evans county and the surrounding communities. Our goal is to provide “Excellent care close to home” for our friends and neighbors. We strive to maintain the highest standards of care by following the guidelines and standards set by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN), and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).

We provide two fully equipped operating rooms, a minor procedure and endoscopy room, and two post-anesthesia recovery rooms. Our patient rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our staff members are highly-skilled professionals who specialize in meeting the needs of our surgery and endoscopy patients. We constantly seek to introduce new technologies and new less invasive procedures into our operating rooms. Our anesthesia department is staffed with highly trained nurse anesthetists who are able to provide for all the anesthesia needs of our patients including general anesthesia, spinal and epidural anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia with sedation (conscious sedation).

• Upper endoscopy and esophageal dilatation

• Anoscopy and hemorrhoid banding

Most of our surgeries are “same-day” surgical procedures. This means that after a brief post-operative recovery period in our same-day surgery unit, our patients are discharged home where they can recuperate in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Patients are also able to stay 24 hours after surgery on our medical-surgical unit if their condition requires a longer stay.
